help spread the word... the quickest will only take one minute

people have asked us if they can help in any way. indie labels will always need help, so if you feel like helping, here are a few suggestions. the shortest will only take one minute. many thanks!

      Review an album for us...

You can add your album reviews here...
Gas 0095 at itunes and
Gas 0095 at amazon

1 ...we encourage you to be specific and thoughtful. a positive, heartfelt and well written review is preferable to 'this album rocks!', and will be much more likely that someone will check out the album after reading your review. plus you'll get more females/ males/ robots admiring your poetic insight.

2 ...rate the album write a review..., check your spelling and grammar, and publish...

3 ...then tell your friends about your review and the album. just click on the 'tell a friend' link located to the right of the album artwork (itunes only). please contact us if you'd like any help.

note that the reviews themselves can also be rated.

Put a link on your site, blog or email...

choose a link, copy the code next to it, then paste it into your page or blog.

      Create an iMix...

an imix is a playlist (list of songs) for the itunes music store. anyone can play your imix and see what good taste you have. you can only add songs that are available in the store

      imix
imix
imix

to create and publish your playlist...
1 ...
click 'new playlist' on the 'file' menu

2 ...name your playlist. the more interesting and descriptive the better.

3 ...
add songs. you can drag and drop songs from your itunes music library but it's even easier to drag them from the itunes music store (even songs you don't own!)
4 ...
click 'create imix' on the 'file' menu

now create the best mix album that has ever existed!

to get more people to play your imix, it's a good idea to include quite a few tracks from popular but still similar artists, such as
future sound of london and boards of canada, then fans from these other bands will discover and enjoy your mix.

make as many imixes as you like, the more the better. your imix will live for a year before being retired, blade runner style.

now rate your imix...
after you've created and published your imixes to itunes it's crucial to rate them. itunes allows anyone to rate your imix, so you may as well be the first, then get as many of your friends to give you a 5 star rating as possible. high rated playlists get more attention and responses than low rated imixes.
rate your mix...

important: an imix normally needs to have 5 ratings before it will show up on an artist or album page.
exception: if there are imixes with no ratings, they will appear, but as soon as one gets 5 ratings, all others will disappear. note that only the highest rated are shown, so those with poor ratings can sometimes drop off.

imix notes...
after you've published to itunes it will ask you to add some notes about your imix. take a few moments to write something and describe/talk about your playlist. a great description and a high rating increases the odds someone will discover and check out your imix...
rate your mix...

      now tell a friend...

you can send your imix and album review to a friend via the 'tell a friend' link, or just send a link to Gas 0095. you can also 'publish to the web', which gives you the code wrapped in slick apple style graphics for posting on your site or blog.
