Richard Barbieri has exclusively re-recorded his classic Japan track ‘The Experience of Swimming'; Charles Webster has donated an exclusive mix from his brand new January Tuesday project, which was only recorded last week; and Eno colloborator Roedelius, one of the electronic pioneers alongside Kraftwerk, has donated his classic ‘Wenn der Südwind Weht'; plus an unreleased High Skies track and new material from Woob and Anne Garner.

An appropriate post for the 24th July (today), is the High Skies remix of ‘Charles Webster – The Gift of Freedom‘ from his ‘Born on the 24th of July‘ album. Actually it was on the remix album ‘Remixed on the 24th of July‘ as an album of remixes from the album.
This includes the track ‘Forget the Past’ co-written by Charles Webster (Presence, Phurry Phreaks), Sara Jay (Massive Attack) and Mat Jarvis (Gas, High Skies). Mat programmed on every track of the album which also includes the track ‘Gift of Freedom’ which was remixed by Mat (High Skies mix) for the ‘Remixed on the 24th of July’ album.
Originally recorded in the late 90s, it’s a dark downtempo remix with lo-fi electronics over an inexorable drum machine, backing the child-like voice of Sara Jay (Massive Attack). Lo;Rise are legendary house DJ Charles Webster (Presence, Furry Phreaks, Symetrix (Emit) etc) and Sara Jay (Massive Attack).
